The Engineer role is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and readiness of AMF’s facilities and office services. This role oversees maintenance activities, supervises service providers, supports space and asset management, and ensures a safe, functional, and professional working environment. The position also manages building facility projects, contractors, and consultants, contributing to the delivery of high-quality administrative and facility services in line with AMF’s operational standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan, oversee, and optimize preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all facility systems (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire & safety systems) to ensure a minimum of 98% system uptime.
- Analyze system performance and implement engineering solutions to improve efficiency, reliability, and asset lifecycle.
- Diagnose complex technical issues and ensure timely resolution through internal teams or specialized contractors.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of critical systems (BMS, HVAC, power distribution, backup systems) and recommend upgrades or modifications.
- Review technical designs, drawings, and specifications for facility-related works and ensure proper implementation.
- Support energy optimization initiatives through consumption analysis and cost-saving engineering solutions.
- Ensure all systems operate in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
- Develop and maintain a structured preventive maintenance schedule for all facility assets using relevant systems and tools.
- Maintain accurate asset registers, technical documentation, and maintenance records.
- Support lifecycle planning, including repair versus replacement decisions based on technical and financial analysis.
- Identify risks related to aging infrastructure and recommend mitigation plans.
- Serve as the technical focal point for all facility-related service providers and contractors.
- Review and validate technical proposals, scopes of work, and service deliverables.
- Monitor contractor performance against SLAs and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and timeline requirements.
- Lead technical evaluations for contract renewals, upgrades, and selection of new service providers.
- Supervise all building facility projects, managing contractors and consultants to ensure timely delivery of milestones and project closure.
- Support and/or lead minor facility projects, including office fit-outs, system upgrades, and refurbishment works.
- Review engineering designs and ensure execution aligns with approved specifications.
- Coordinate technical aspects of workspace planning to optimize utilization and ensure compliance with standards.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved scope, budget, and timeline without critical technical issues.
- Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations, building codes, and internal AMF policies.
- Support implementation of safety procedures, emergency response plans, and risk assessments.
- Participate in safety inspections, audits, and drills, ensuring timely closure of observations.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and proactive risk mitigation.
- Prepare technical reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and operational risks.
- Track KPIs such as system uptime, response time, and maintenance effectiveness.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
- Contribute to the digitalization and automation of facility management processes where applicable.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in facilities management, office administration, or building operations.
- Strong knowledge of facility systems, maintenance protocols, and vendor coordination.
- Proven experience working with maintenance contractors, consultants, and service providers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering (required).
- Specialization or coursework in Facilities Management, Building Services, or MEP systems is preferred.
- Certifications in facility management, health & safety, or building operations are considered an advantage.
