The Accountant is responsible for processing financial transactions, preparing and recording accounting entries, maintaining accurate general ledger accounts, and supporting monthly and annual financial reporting. The role ensures the integrity of financial data, compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements, and timely execution of accounting operations to support AMF’s financial management objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Prepare and record daily and month-end journal entries.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in preparing adjusting, accrual, and closing entries during period-end cycles.
  • Monitor account balances, identify discrepancies, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Process supplier invoices, payment requests, and employee reimbursements.
  • Review supporting documents and verify accuracy in line with internal policies.
  • Prepare payment vouchers and follow up on pending items to ensure timely settlement.
  • Support invoicing, revenue recognition, and follow-up on receivable transactions.
  • Handle all UAE VAT filing procedures.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Support preparation of management reports, expenditure summaries, and variance analyses.
  • Compile financial data required for audits, reviews, and internal assessments.
  • Coordinate with departments to obtain information required for financial reporting.
  • Support fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
  • Maintain accurate asset records and assist with periodic physical verification.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and other assigned account reconciliations.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal review.
  • Ensure adherence to AMF accounting procedures, regulations, and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend efficiency enhancements.
  • Maintain proper documentation and ensure timely filing of financial records.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to queries.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, general ledger operations, or financial reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Professional certifications such as CMA, CPA, or ACCA (completed or in progress) are preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and period-end processes.
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems.
  • Exposure to financial institutions or international organizations is considered an advantage.
